Top 5 Men’s Fragrances October 2020
3 minute read
Today we are kicking off a new series on the blog! We will be discussing our top 5 picks for each month! Autumn is in full swing 🍂 and halloween is coming up… 🎃
We will cover the five different categories for use in different scenarios. Get your noses ready, these are dark, sexy and mysterious…
Our Versatile Pick
I describe Parfum de Marly’s Layton as a dichotomy. One side of it is a powdery freshness with the iconic musk backbone found in other PDM creations. The other side is this sexy apple pie that makes it warming and inviting…
This is pricey but ultimately luxurious, versatile and a massive compliment getter! Worth the money.
Our Date pick
When going on a date, Giorgio Armani’s Code Absolu is a powerful pick! It is ultimately a vanilla fragrance, but combined with leather, it creates this well put together, mature and sexy character. Again, compliment factor, high! This achieves a nice balance of sweet and fresh while Profumo goes all in on sweetness which doesn't work as well for autumn/fall! Absolu is the more versatile of the two.
Our Professional pick
For the office or school, Hugo Boss Bottled is something you can’t go wrong with! This is a well known DNA, that starts off with a lot of fresh and transparent apple, then drying down to a light and pleasant vanilla! This is clean, gentlemanly and inoffensive! With the intense EDP, you’ll get better performance than the original with a longevity of around 8 hours and soft projection.
Our Partying pick
The overly criticised brother, Versace Eros Flame, is a dream come true for people looking for spicy and citrus fun fragrances! It takes the easily loveable and sexy vanilla dry down of the original, keeps the loud projection and incredible longevity (14 hours on my skin) but replaces the apple and mint with orange and pepper. This his garnered me more compliments than the original. 👀
Bonus Gym pick
Drakkar Noir is an 80s powerhouse perfume, that, no longer has the power it one had… But, that’s ok! The 2 hour performance makes this perfect to use as an easy to spray workout scent, especially when you account the price! Drakkar Noir is a ‘barbershop’ scent, meaning it smells old school, soapy and clean. It also has an added darkness, making it perfect for autumn and winter!
Conclusion
Those are our picks guys! What are your thoughts on this list and what are your greatest fragrance picks recently? We’d love to hear them down below!
