The Best Outfits to wear with certain Fragrances

The world of fashion is vast and is easily the best way to express yourself from day to day. Within an outfit, there are basic components such as tops, bottoms and sneakers. In between these layers are accessories.
Some see accessories as only being pieces that can be seen by the naked eye, such as rings, bracelets and necklaces.
But, fragrances are the accessory that can tie an outfit together and convey your personality even deeper. Just as certain outfits are created for specific events, the same can be said about fragrance.
Here are five different outfits and the accompanying fragrance and scent profile to match.
Suit & Tie/Dark outfits
Let’s be honest. When you’re wearing a suit and tie, you feel badass!
The same applies when you’re wearing dark colours or all black. You feel like a menace to society, but in a good way.
The key to matching your spiffy or dark outfit is wearing a fragrance that will match its accents and your personality.
My recommendation would be to pick up any tobacco and vanilla fragrance. This combination is better than peanut butter and jelly, plus it can be found at many different price ranges!
The best budget fragrance with this breakdown would be Burberry London for Men. Although the performance is weak, it gives off sweet vanilla notes and is pushed forward by tobacco.
If you’re feeling the need to splurge, go ahead and grab Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. This fragrance is a lady killer! The infusion of tobacco and vanilla play romantically with a soft tonka note, which makes for a masterpiece of a scent.
Bright coloured outfits
Summertime is great for wearing bright, flashy colours. The weather is great, serotonin is boosted and there is joy in the air.
When wearing a bright, loud outfit, your fragrance should match accordingly. Fragrances that would match this outline could be loud projectors or ones with dominant notes.
Paco Rabanne Invictus is an example of a hyper-sweet fragrance that could match your outfit. Underspraying it would be recommended in the heat as sweetness tends to over project and cause headaches. But, this grapefruit bomb is a stunner that is perfect for your bright outfit.
Swimwear
A swimsuit calls for a fragrance that doesn’t necessarily project, but will please the masses and last through sunscreen and water. I would recommend either Prada Luna Rossa Carbon or Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme Forever.
Prada Luna Rossa Carbon is a great choice and is well known as a Dior Sauvage killer. Luna Rossa Carbon features a more spicy take on a blue fragrance but arguably is more dynamic with the use of bergamot and pepper as top notes.
D&G Forever is a surprisingly great flanker to the original Light Blue and can be stacked up to the Intense flanker. Light Blue Forever features a stronger citrus accord and features the interesting use of ozonic notes. Ozone notes can be described as aquatic, light and citrusy.
Date Night
Whether you’re going out on a first date with a new partner or your fourth this week with your partner of many years, your scent matters.
I would lean towards a sexy, medium unique scent such as YSL La Nuit de l’Homme. This scent is a classic but isn’t so popular anymore. It’s sexy and crowd-pleasing but will challenge your date. The bergamot note may remind them of their ex but the lavender, cedar and vetiver will put their nose on a new track.
For the second situation, I would recommend either their favourite scent or one you haven’t worn in a while.
In my situation, my significant other is obsessed with Paco Rabanne Invictus. I tend to wear this fragrance or similar sweet scents when we go out. But, I enjoy surprising her with different scents such as Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Moschino Toy Boy and YSL Y Eau de Parfum.
Conclusion
These are just some ideas of how to pair fragrances and your outfits. Obviously, the best strategy is to make sure you’re happy with how you look and smell. But, pairing a look and a scent can enhance your personality and complete your ensemble.
